Eat Write Retreat is THE Real Deal

April 21st, 2014

“I loved the all-inclusive registration, it was one of the most influential factors in my decision to attend EWR 2011.  Being unfamiliar with DC, it was nice to not have to find a hotel, not have to worry about where I would eat, transportation, etc.” –Johnna Perry, 52 Donuts

“I LOVED the event last year and actually really did love the all-inclusive option. It made it easier to plan and was much less expensive. I also loved the fact that sharing rooms and having nearly everyone in the same hotel gave the entire event an even stronger feeling of community and bonding.” –Alejandra Ramos, Always Order Dessert

Our All-Inclusive Conference is Your Perfect Fit

If you look closely, you’ll notice that Eat Write Retreat is all-inclusive. Why is that important? First, it means that one registration fee covers your whole weekend with us: from our Sponsor Meet & Greet on Friday to our Pitch to the Pros on Sunday, we’ve got you covered.

If you do the math, our registration is actually less expensive than the others. Your hotel room is included, our fantastic dining events are included, and all of the sessions, panels and workshops (more on that later) are included.

When it comes to your professional development, Eat Write Retreat offers the best bang for your buck. But don’t just take our word for it. Check out the chart below to see how this fabulous food conference stacks up against the others.

*These totals were calculated using current and/or past pricing for hotel rooms in association with these events and are approximations. In addition, a three-night stay was factored in, as the events either start early on the first day, or end late on the last day, requiring an extra night’s accommodation.

Another benefit to our all-inclusive atmosphere is that everyone–speakers, sponsors and attendees alike–participate in all of our fabulous programming. Rather than requiring our sponsors to stay in the halls, manning their booths while you attend the sessions, we’ve invited everyone in! After all, how better to understand the brand perspective than from the reps themselves? And how better for them to learn what makes you tick than by hearing your powerful insights during our sessions? When everyone is included, everyone wins!

And finally, rest easy that at Eat Write retreat there are no tracks to select, no programs to choose. You’ll participate in everything we offer! Doesn’t that make more sense than getting locked out of the session you wanted or questioning whether a different panel would have been better?

The Proof is in the Partnering

We know that our decision to create an all-inclusive event is the right one, as so many of our attendees are partnering with brands and growing their blogs as a direct result of their Eat Write Retreat experience.

Why not do the same this year? Register to join us in June in Philadelphia, PA.

Why do I have to share a room?

For a few reasons. First, it puts the “buddy system” to work for you. What better way to build community and take in the weekend than to share your room with a fellow food blogger? Second, it lowers the cost of staying in a world-class hotel in the heart of Philadelphia. In addition to being newly renovated, the rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi internet and include breakfast each morning.

If you’re still not convinced, we offer single occupancy registration, which is priced on par with the other conferences. Take a look at the registration page of the Eat Write Retreat website and decide which is best for you!

Either way, join us in June and you’ll have the experience of a lifetime, coming away with new skills, lasting friendships and a clearer sense of how to grow as a food blogger.

But even the double occupancy rate is much more expensive than registration at the other conferences, right?

Actually, once you roll in all the added expenses that aren’t part of registration fees to the other conferences, you’ll find that Eat Write Retreat is less expensive and more loaded with useful workshops, networking and culinary events.

Just as important, we have partnered with high-quality brands who value the work you do and want to help you succeed. Our all-inclusive approach means that you’ll spend the entire weekend with fellow bloggers AND these valuable sponsor and industry reps. Plus, we offer our renown Pitch to the Pros session, where you can schedule one-on-one face time with the sponsors that align with your brand. We create an atmosphere of genuine connection that is unparalleled!

Our event is only a few weeks away. Check out our schedule, download our app, and register in time to be eligible to participate in our invaluable media training session with watermelon.org (must register by April 30).

See you in Philly!

Name That Signature Cocktail and Win!

June 20th, 2013

Safest Choice Eggs logo

Safest Choice Eggs helped kick of this year’s Eat Write Retreat conference in high style by sponsoring our Signature Cocktails event. Not only are these unique shell-pasteurized eggs perfect in cookie dough, mousses and homemade mayonnaise, but they make delicious drinks, too! Plus, they are free from the risk of salmonella, unlike non-pasteurized eggs. Which makes using them in cocktails all the more appealing.

We just had to try our hand at “silver, gold and royal” cocktails as part of the Signature Cocktails with Safest Choice Eggs event. Paired with retro spirits Sage and Root, from local artisan distiller Art in the Age and fresh fruit juice, these drinks are tasty, balanced and fun! In fact, the only thing they are missing is a name!

That’s where you come in. Take a look at the recipes below, peruse the photos from our event, and give it your best shot! Come up with an original moniker for one or both of the cocktails from our party and you could walk away with an Eat Write Retreat swag bag (valued at approximately $200). Runner up receives a 6-month supply of Safest Choice Eggs.
